This week’s word of the week is

 ᑲᓇᑕᐣ (Kanatan)

It means “clean” and “pure”.

I’m sure nearly every Canadian has seen the heritage minute commercial that features European settlers running into Indigenous peoples. The Indigenous man says “Kanata” meaning village, but the Europeans took it as a name for the country. I’m not sure how it is in other indigenous languages but in Cree the closest word to Canada is ᑲᓇᑕᐣ meaning clean and pure.
